Full course description

Online course meets once a week on Tuesdays for 8 weeks from 6-8pm EST.
This 8-week course is designed to provide you with the insights and knowledge that were invaluable to my journey. Throughout the course, influential books will be recommended, and guest speakers will be invited to enhance your understanding of the material. Each module is carefully crafted to help you navigate the complexities of the industry and establish a successful business.

The curriculum includes the following modules:
  • Launching Your Interior Design Business: Discover the essential steps to start your own business, including how to find clarity, establish your voice, and create a roadmap.
  • Building and Managing Client Relationships: Learn how to develop and maintain strong, lasting relationships with your clients.
  • Managing Trades, Supplies & Professionals: Understand the logistics of coordinating with suppliers and tradespeople, including the process of creating purchase orders.
  • Creating & Managing Design Budgets: Develop the skills to create quick and easy design budgets that help clients determine their project scope.
  • Creating & Managing Design Schedules: Learn how to effectively plan and implement schedules for your design projects.
  • Billing Methods for Interior Design Services: Explore various billing models to find the best fit for your business.
  • Building & Leading an Effective Design Team: Discover strategies for assembling, managing, and delegating tasks to a productive design team.
  • Branding & Marketing Your Design Business: Establishing a strong brand presence and marketing your services effectively will be critical to your success, whether you manage your own marketing or work with a publicist.
This course is not intended as a substitute for legal, accounting, or business advice. Instead, it serves as a guide to help you navigate the essential steps for setting up your business correctly.
Since requirements can differ from state to state and even within local jurisdictions, you will need to conduct your own research or consider hiring someone to help you through this process. Resources like LegalZoom can be beneficial.
I want to emphasize that my role differs from that of a coach; my aim is to empower you to think independently. By the end of the course, you will be equipped to confidently implement the strategies you choose for your business. I encourage you to consult with lawyers, accountants, bookkeepers, and business consultants, as this course is just the beginning of your professional journey.
