Full course description
This course meets weekly on-site Mondays from 6-9pm EST. AutoCAD is the most commonly used application in design firms. Take advantage of the functionality and productivity found in AutoCAD. Learn the fundamentals of AutoCAD in this hands-on course and discover how to efficiently prepare digital drawings including floor plans and elevations. Specifically designed for interior designers and using the Microsoft operating system, this course will cover the basics of AutoCAD drawing software. Topics include drawing commands, drawing set-up and edit, layers, dimensioning, and text. Save, save-as, printing and plotting functions are also covered. An elementary knowledge of both basic hand drafting and computer use is recommended. Students will have access to campus computers, software and printing throughout the duration of their class. Students are encouraged to bring a flash drive for saving their work throughout the course.
How do I attend an on-site course?
Structure: Students will receive an email with instructions on how to access the NYSID East 70th Street campus. Students will meet in a classroom with fellow students and an instructor on the specific dates and times listed in the course description. In some courses, projects and visual presentations may be required. Students will have access to campus facilities for a specific duration during their course enrollment.
