Full course description

On-site course meets Thursdays from 6-8pm on February 12 and February 26 at our uptown campus, 170 E 70th Street.
Universal Design is about creating spaces that are welcoming and accessible to people of all ages, stages, and abilities. Learn how to create functional, aesthetic, and inclusive environments utilizing the Principles of Universal Design (UD). Topics will include how to prepare for aging-in-place, creating multi-generational living spaces, and visitability. This course includes case studies, interactive learning, and actionable strategies to empower interior designers to implement Universal Design in their studies or current practice.
 
The instructor, Lynette Bard, was awarded first place in ASID Florida South’s Design Excellence Awards in the Universal/Aging in Place category. She believes that interior designers have the superpower to improve people’s lives and make a positive impact through Universal Design.
