Full course description

This course meets weekly onsite Wednesdays from 5:30-8:30 pm EST for 7 weeks from February 4th through March 25th. No class on March 11th.

This beginner level course introduces the fundamentals of Revit, a powerful 3D modeling and visualization program used by interior designers, architects, engineers, and contractors. Students will explore the basics of BIM (Building Information Modeling) with a focus on interior design, using parametric models—components that behave like real-world objects. Learn to navigate the Revit interface, update drawing sets, create rendered views, and generate schedules. This class will also introduce the design options tool, allowing you to experiment with multiple design studies within a single model. No prior experience with Revit is required.

How do I attend an on-site course?

Structure: Students will receive an email with instructions on how to access the NYSID East 70th Street campus. Students will meet in a classroom with fellow students and an instructor on the specific dates and times listed in the course description. In some courses, projects and visual presentations may be required. Students will have access to campus facilities for a specific duration during their course enrollment.

Schedule: Please check the course description for exact course dates and times. Students must be on time to their course and absences will be recorded. If you know you are going to miss a session, please let your instructor know ahead of time.
