Full course description

Online course meets once a week on Wednesdays from 6-9pm EDT via zoom.

A stress-free studio environment is created where students learn to make confident, quick-sketch diagrams to aid in presenting their ideas without undue pressure. This is not a classical drawing course; it is a series of classes carefully designed to give you the ability to make quick sketches—regardless of drawing skill—on any available material and in any social situation.

Do not let a lack of confidence in your drawing ability prevent you from expressing your ideas quickly and successfully. Give yourself the freedom to scrawl your concepts on paper—or on the back of a napkin—and you will reach a new level of spontaneous creativity. Even in the age of digital drawing, the ability to sketch enables you to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. Whether on the spur of the moment or by routine, learn to embrace your pen and paper, and you’ll be surprised at how sketching can save time, improve workflow, enhance communication, boost creativity, and be enjoyable. This course will instruct you in the use of basic drawing materials, simple shapes, and composition for creating informative diagrams quickly and with minimal effort.

How do the LIVE VIA ZOOM online courses work?

Structure: Students interact live their instructor and fellow classmates during their scheduled sessions via zoom. Some courses include assignments for students to complete between sessions which may have due dates that require course participation during the week. In some courses, projects and visual presentations may be required.

Schedule: Please check the course description for exact course dates and times. Students must log into the zoom meeting to attend their scheduled session but do not need a zoom account. Instructors often record course meetings, if you know you are going to miss a session, please let your instructor know ahead of time.

Time commitment: The time that you spend working on your online course will vary based on the number of assignments.
